    About Petite Loom

    What is Petite Loom?
Petite Loom is a luxury heirloom children's clothing brand based in Naperville, Illinois, designing for children ages 1 to 5. Every piece is built on the construction principles of heritage European childrenswear — peter pan collars, hand smocking, embroidery, bloomers for toddler boys, braced shorts, and structured tweed. Reimagined for today using soft, stretchable fabrics so a child can actually move in them. Every order arrives in a hand-illustrated keepsake box with a storybook tucked inside.
    What is heirloom children's clothing?
Heirloom children's clothing is made to outlast the child who wears it first. Built from quality materials using traditional techniques — smocking, embroidery, structured construction — and designed in silhouettes that do not date with the season. The idea is simple: instead of buying several cheap pieces that fall apart, you buy one well-made piece that a child wears for two years, passes to a sibling, and eventually becomes something a family keeps. At Petite Loom, every piece is designed with this in mind.
    Who founded Petite Loom?
Sameen Rizvi founded Petite Loom in 2026. She is a lawyer by training, a mother, and someone who spent years in fashion before turning her attention to childrenswear. She had previously worked as creative director at a women's fashion house, which gave her a clear eye for construction, fabric, and what makes a garment worth keeping.

When her son was born, she went looking for the kind of clothing she had in mind. Beautifully made. Thoughtfully designed. The kind of thing you would find in European childrenswear boutiques, but not in North America. It did not exist here at the level she was looking for. So she built it herself.

Petite Loom is designed and run by Sameen from Naperville, Illinois.
What ages is Petite Loom designed for?
Our clothing is designed for children ages 1 to 5. Each piece is sized for this range and made with the way small children actually move in mind — comfortable enough for a real childhood, beautiful enough to be kept.
What makes Petite Loom different from other luxury children's brands?
We make clothing that most luxury brands stopped making. Our pieces draw on heritage European childrenswear details that have largely disappeared from the market: hand smocking, peter pan collars, embroidery, bloomers for boys ages 1 to 2, braced shorts, and structured tweed. But the construction is built for real childhood. We use soft, stretchable fabrics so a child can move freely in pieces that look like they belong to another era. Every order also includes an original illustrated storybook, The Petite Chronicles, and the packaging is designed to be kept. Ten percent of every purchase goes toward supporting children with special needs. Not as a campaign. Just as part of how we run this business from the beginning.

    Sizing and Fit

How do I find the right size?
All Petite Loom pieces are sized by age. When your child is between sizes, we recommend sizing up for room to grow. Fit may vary slightly by style, so each product page includes specific style notes with fit guidance for that piece. For the full size chart with age, height, weight, chest, and waist measurements, visit petiteloom.com/sizing. If you are still unsure, email us at hello@petiteloom.com and we will help you choose.
My child is between sizes. Which should I choose?
Size up. Our pieces are designed with longevity in mind and a slightly roomier fit will last a full season longer than one that fits perfectly today. Each product page also includes style-specific fit notes. For full measurements, see the size guide at petiteloom.com/sizing.

    What Comes in Every Order

What comes inside a Petite Loom order?
Every Petite Loom order arrives in a hand-illustrated keepsake box containing the clothing, tissue paper, a seal sticker, a handwritten thank you card, and Volume I of The Petite Chronicles — our original illustrated storybook. The box is designed to be beautiful enough to keep. Many families use it as a keepsake box long after the order has been opened.
    Does every order arrive gift-ready?
Yes. Every order is packaged as though it is a gift, whether it is one or not. There is no additional charge for this. It is simply how every Petite Loom order ships.

    The Petite Chronicles

    What is The Petite Chronicles?
The Petite Chronicles is an original illustrated storybook series that ships with every Petite Loom order. Volume I, The Garden of Whispering Wishes, is set in the village of Lilette — a place that lives somewhere between a European countryside and childhood memory. Five friends, a hidden garden, and a lesson about kindness worth keeping. Written for children. Kept by families. New volumes will follow each season.
Is the storybook included with every order, or is it a separate purchase?
It is included with every order at no extra cost. This is not a promotion or a limited-time offer. It is simply part of what a Petite Loom order is. Every child who receives a Petite Loom piece receives the story that goes with it.

    Care and Longevity

How do I care for Petite Loom clothing?
Because our pieces are made with delicate details — smocking, embroidery, structured fabrics — we recommend hand washing in cold water with a gentle detergent, or machine washing on a delicate cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. Iron on a low setting if needed, and avoid direct contact with embroidery. Treated carefully, these pieces will last long enough to be worn by more than one child.
Can Petite Loom pieces really be passed down to younger siblings?
That is the intention. Heirloom quality means the construction holds up through years of wear, not just a single season. The fabrics do not pill or fade with proper care, and the silhouettes are timeless enough that a piece worn today will not look dated in five years. Many of our customers order with this in mind — buying a piece for their first child knowing a younger sibling will wear it too.
